Capital Health – Hopewell

Pennington, NJ

Capital Health Medical Center-Hopewell opened in November 2011 with 223 patient beds. This new state of the art hospital features high-level, specialized medical services such as CyberKnife® radiosurgery, daVinci® robotic surgery, and specialized pediatric emergency care including a level II NICU. Hopewell was awarded LEED Gold certification by the US Green Building Council.

Data Center

EDI developed the overall space plan, requirements, and design for a new Tier 2+ data center with 4,000 SF access floor (expandable to 5,500 SF) to support the entire Capital Health System. We developed and maintained the relocation strategy, schedule, and cabinet elevations (showing the exact location of each device). EDI’s move team managed the data center move on-site during the single move weekend.

Project Team

Capital Health hired EDI to conduct technology visioning services and generate a master technology plan and budget for the new hospital. Our use of BIM facilitated management of end transition enabling a seamless move from old hospital to new. We also designed a second patient wing that would add 216 beds to the facility allowing them to expand.
