Novelis Project Forward

Kennesaw, GA

Novelis’s “Project Forward” was the renovation of an existing 162,000-sq-ft, single-story warehouse and office building into the Novelis Global Technology Center, a research and development facility focused on metal casting and fabrication. The center contains world class office space, state-of-the-art lab equipment, and a fully functioning beverage can-making line that allows Novelis to partner with their global can customers on creating advanced can designs and testing them in a simulated manufacturing environment.

Hired by MEP Engineers AHA Engineering, EDI provided the design and consulting for the structured cabling and security system for the renovation. EDI’s work included construction document preparation, assisting the general contractor with the bidding process (answer basic questions), shop drawing review and site visits during construction to observe the progress of the contractor’s work.

Novelis Inc. is the global leader in aluminum rolled products and aluminum can recycling. The Company operates in 11 countries, has nearly 11,000 employees and reported revenue of $10.6 billion in fiscal year 2011.
