In March 2015, Northside Health system broke ground on a new Northside Hospital in Canton, GA. The new 50-acre complex includes the hospital, medical office building, and 900 space parking lot. The new 7-story replacement hospital will house a cancer institute, surgical services, and a level 2 NICU. The building will also include a main patient care tower, women’s center, and adult and pediatric ED. Northside is looking to build a state-of-the-art facility that is expected to have better navigation than most hospitals using a recurrent design of nurses’ stations, which will be used as anchors. There also will be color cues to help visitors navigate the facility.
Beginning in 2013, Northside Hospital engaged EDI to provide data center planning services to assist in planning a Disaster Recovery data center. EDI provided an assessment of Northside’s existing data center portfolio followed by a needs and requirements meeting and a development of market options. Then in 2016, EDI was selected to consult with Northside on their Data Center Renewal Project. The project includes helping Northside transition from an on premise data center to a collocation facility. Our specific tasks will include: Confirming current state, dependency mapping, developing IT growth models, disaster recovery planning, developing new requirements, colocation RFP review, and migration planning.
EDI is providing programming, budgeting, and schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding and negotiation, and construction phase services. EDI is also providing technology relocation management services.
